Conquering Quarantine #5: Laughter

Updated: Apr 29, 2022

Laughter is the best medicine! A good belly laughs when you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed is one of the best things you can do. There are many ways that you can find laughter in many topics. I hope to generate some ideas for you since laughter IS the best medicine.

Laughter decreases stress hormones, increases immune cells, and fights infection and antibodies, thus improving your disease resistance. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins and the body's natural feel; good chemicals and endorphins promote an overall sense of wellbeing and can even temporarily leave paint. What we're going through has created more stressors in our lives; however, if we have a great laugh, we can remove or minimize the stress. the best medicine!

I've learned to even laugh at myself because I do goofy things. I've learned to shake it off and laugh because, you know, life is short, and everything can't be serious. Even though we're going through a tough season, there still has to be some level of humanity attached to us, and one of those parts is laughter. So if you haven't taken the opportunity to laugh during the last few months or even today, stop right now and laugh.

You can look at a meme, a comedian, a sitcom, a movie, or maybe just talking to a friend that always manages to bring a smile to your face. Laughter is the best medicine!

My favorite forms of laughter are comedians who tell jokes about family and family issues. I can relate very much to that because I come from a large family. So when I see comedians that are talking about family issues, those are the ones I tend to draw towards. I also am a Christian, and as a Christian, I don't typically watch a lot of many comedians that use profanity or talk about sex. Comedians that I enjoy listening to are Michael Jr. and Jim Gaffigan because they focus on family issues and have children.

Laughter is so important....even God talks about it

Laughter...have you taken your medicine today?
