Conquering Quarantine #5: Laughter
Believe it or not...laughter is the best medicine. A good belly laugh when you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed is one of the best things you can do. There's many ways that you can find laughter and in many topics. I'm hoping to generate some ideas for you since laughter is the best medicine of your life.
Did you know, laughter decreases stress, hormones and increases immunity cells and fights, infection and antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins and the body's natural feel, good chemicals, endorphins promote an overall sense of wellbeing and can even temporarily leave paint. We're going through in our society right now with the virus and it has created more stressors into our life, however, if we just have a really good laugh we can remove or minimize the stress.
Laughter...is the best medicine!
I've learned to even laugh at myself because I do goofy things. I've learned to just shake it off and laugh because you know, life is short and everything can't be serious. Even though we're going through a serious season, there still has to be some level of humanity that's attached to us, and part of our humanity is our laughter. So if you haven't taken the opportunity to laugh during the last few months or even today, stop right now and laugh. You can look at a meme, a comedian, a sitcom, a movie, or maybe just talking to a friend that always manages to brings a smile to your face. Laughter is the best medicine!
My favorite forms of laughter are comedians who tell jokes about family and family issues. I can relate very much to that because I come from a large family. So when I see comedians that are talking about family issues, those are the ones I tend to draw towards. I also am a Christian and as a Christian, I don't typically watch a lot of comedians that use profanity or talk about sex. Comedians that I enjoy listening to are Michael Jr. or Jim Gaffigan maybe because they focus on family issues and each have children.
Laughter is so important....even God talks about it
