Win at Taming a Gremlin
Updated: Apr 30
There's that gremlin voice inside of you, the one that's nagging you and making you feel insecure in every situation. We're going to talk about how to squash that gremlin.
In a recent blog, I talk about the gremlin voice. I talk about ways to help make that gremlin voice a quiet down or even eliminate it.
But you know something, you're unique. I mean, there isn’t anybody else like you. You were made with a particular purpose. There is something so unique about you. I believe that it's a seed. That seed needs to be nourished and developed to grow into something bigger and more significant.
It would help if you felt confident in who you are, don't focus on those gremlins (your self-image, weight, the type of clothes you have, where you live, or your income); focus on what you love. Your smile, your personality, and your compassion for other people. Those are some of the things that make you unique. Stop walking around carrying those negative thoughts. Do something that helps you to overcome the gremlins inside of you. Remember, everyone messes up, so don’t be so hard on yourself when you make a mistake.
What can I do to avoid letting the situation happen again?
Do something positive. You can help someone by buying them groceries, helping them cross the street, or even sitting with them and watching a TV show. Be a blessing to others. Spend time encouraging people. When you wake up in the morning, you look at yourself in the mirror and say, “I think you're awesome. I love you. You are a great person. You can do great things today.” Do that every single day for a week and see what happens.
Please give me your feedback. Let me know how this impacts that gremlin inside you. I guarantee that if you are consistent and do this for at least one week, you will start to see your mind shift and that gremlin voice? It steadily becomes quieter. Stay consistent even longer; next thing you know, it is gone.
